Delta shut the door after the photographer left. With a sigh, she leaned against it and closed her eyes, letting the relief that the shoot was over unknot her limbs.

For hours, she’d been struggling to keep her lust under wraps, to pretend that Evan’s hard muscles, glistening under the bright lights, had no effect on her. And for hours, her body had quaked with the desire to feel his hardness against her.

Today, that raw sexuality she’d seen in his gaze the day she met him outside the station was a hundred times stronger, giving her photos sexier than she’d hoped for. The longer she’d watched, the harder it’d been to resist the urge to press her legs together, in a futile attempt to relieve the hot tendrils of erotic pain that’d pooled in her pussy.

Which left her feeling horny—and stupid. For who, but a fool, would believe that the sexuality glistening in Evan’s eyes and cloaking his body was for her?

The who and the fool were one and the same.

Because Delta had believed that the look in his eyes was for her. Excited and embarrassed, she’d felt exposed, as if their awareness shimmered in the air like a hologram, visible to all.

But Delta didn’t blame Evan.

It was Delta’s fault. She was good at her job, picking the right talent for the right ad. Delta had wanted men to go agog over Vanessa—Evan had proved that she’d succeeded. Delta had wanted women to take one look into Evan’s eyes and drown in the conviction that Evan was seeing her. Well, Delta, herself, had definitely proved that.

Vanessa and Evan had created a chemistry on camera that would, indeed, help her lingerie fly out the door. Her ad campaign would be successful. And wasn’t that the whole point? So, she’d put her stupidity aside, focus on business, and forget that silly little kiss.

Except it hadn’t been a “silly little kiss.”

It’d been one huge kiss that’d sent her heart beating so fast that she’d felt faint. It’d been one body-trembling kiss that’d fueled endless cravings for more. More kisses. More touching. The feel of Evan’s hands on her body—her back, her hips, her ass, before moving to the front, up her stomach and over her breasts—

She pinched the bridge of her nose. Best to push those thoughts from her mind, now and forever.

As she pushed herself away from the door, a knock startled her. Turning, she looked into the peephole. There stood the man responsible for her physical distress.

Unlocking the door, she swung it open, and pasted on a smile she wasn’t feeling. “Hi.”

“Hi. I think I left my wallet in your bedroom.”

Delta ignored the ridiculous flutter of disappointment in her stomach. “Come in,” she said, turning and walking to her bedroom.

“I forgot to thank you,” Evan said from behind her.

“Thank me?” Delta asked without turning. It was all she could do to continue forward, as if having him trail behind her was no big deal. She imagined his eyes
